Well, we are back on the festival circuit. We have 3 local festivals under our belt.
We started in Fredericksburg, VA for the Tacos and Beer festival. We had all of our wood framed sunglasses set up along with the bamboo sunglasses and wood watches. Next we set sights in Tysons Corner for the Beer Bourbon and BBQ festival. It was a new site for us and it showed because I got lost :( Vintage Virginia was the next festival on our list and it was a perfect day for polarized wood and bamboo sunglasses! This past weekend was our most recent festival and we headed back to Fredericksburg for the Taste of Fredericksburg. Our customers are really loving our wood watch selection. Up next we will be in NC for the Taco Tap festival June 26th. The PLANK family is on vacation for the first part of July so no festivals. We are waiting back from Firefly and Bonnaroo to see if we can vend again at the big music festivals. I will post more information as we get approved for the festivals. Hope to see you soon!

Looks like PLANK will not be going to any music festivals in the foreseeable future. We will miss meeting new and old friends while hawking our bamboo and wood sunglasses. One of the best things were taking my family to a festival and treating it like a mini vacation. We would spend an extra day in the city and see museums, beaches, and local attractions. What a bummer!
We were stoked this year because we were adding some new items to our normal wood sunglasses. We have wood watches (available on our website), wood rings, wood bracelets(available on our website), and even some bamboo chop sticks and toothbrushes! For now everyone will just have to order online and have them shipped until we get back onto the festival circuit. Stay safe everyone and keep doing what your doing to smother this virus. It is hard to say it but PLANK wont be out on the festival tour this year. I have some booked for later in the year and am hopeful but i have a feeling that they also will be canceled.
So instead we are focusing on our online catalog and hope to sell some sweet eco friendly wood and bamboo sunglasses to you here! We are already getting excited for 2021 because i think everyone including ourselves will be super stoked to get outside and see old and new friends again. Everyone still also needs protection from the sun so give us a look and try out a new pair of bamboo or wood framed sunglasses for 2020. You wont be disappointed! We have been busy adding new products to our lineup for our festivals in 2020. We have added wood bracelets, all wood watches and wood rings along with some new colors for the Manchester Collection. Bamboo and wood sunglasses will be our main product but we have some exciting new items in the queue.
Right now for March we will be in Charlotte NC for our first festival March 7th at the Beer Bourbon BBQ event. March 14th will be Richmond and the St PaddyPalooza at Innsbrook. We find ourselves in Wilmington NC March 21st (our new favorite city!) for Beer Bourbon and BBQ festival. Rounding out March will be a Taco and Taps festival in Cary NC on the 28th. March is right around the corner. We hope to see some old friends and new ones as well! Check out our Instagram for more information and dont forget to sign up to receive our emails. Sometimes we take for granted what is right in front of us. Instead of relying on other for necessities, we can do many of them ourselves. Now, some of us might not have a green thumb or great sewing skills but these can be learned. Cut back on manufactured goods and use what is available. You will find you can if you put your mind to it. Buy sustainable productsIf you are buying products for your house, apparel or transportation, think about how you can buy the same product but it being made by sustainable resources or leaves a smaller carbon footprint. For example those that need "last mile transportation' from train station to bus or house you may find having a electric scooter would be a great fit. No gas or oil and it is small enough when folded to carry with you on a bus or train. No need for a cab or uber ride. At PLANK we use sustainable wood and bamboo resources for our wood framed sunglasses. We also donate to the National Forest Foundation for every pair we sell. We help plant more trees than we use for our products by a large margin. We try to use very little plastic or non recyclable items for our business and use as much recycled products as we can. We are always looking for ways to cut back on non renewable energies.
