Let me start by saying "Douglass, you are awesome!." I met Douglass at the Festival in the Park in Roanoke this past weekend. He was walking by drinking a root beer ( I am a big fan of all things root beer), I asked him where he got it from and if it was close. I was hoping to make a root beer run. He explained that it was kind of far away from where I was located. He said he would bring one to me if I was still there by 5pm. I didn't think about it as I was busy selling sunglasses to the kind people of Roanoke. Sure enough he comes back with not only one but two root beers!!!! One was an extremely delicious caramel cream root beer by Brownie's. I offered and tried to give him some money for the root beers and his trouble but he would not have any of it. I will pay it forward as soon as can. What a great gesture and totally unexpected. Thank you again, Douglass ,for making my 3 day 12 hour days much better.
I also saw a gentleman dressed up as Elvis. This weekend SunFlipz will be in Hampton for the Blackbeard Pirate Festival. Yes, you heard that right. PIRATES!!!! I have a feeling it will be totally awesome.

 We traveled up to Lake Anna for the Lake Anna Brewfest Saturday May 16th. My daughter came with me for this event and proved to be a good helper. There were plenty of craft beer vendors and a great variety of beers to try. Hardywood Park Craft Brewery was there as well as Legend to represent RVA.
This weekend SunFlipz with be at the Roanoke Festival in the Park all weekend starting Friday May 22nd at 11am. Saturday and Sunday they open at 10am. We will have some new wood sunglasses styles and our new tee shirts that we just got in today. We are stoked to bring in something new to our already popular line up. Time to get the wood out!  Early in the day. It started to fill up on both sides of this lot. For the first time this year, I had the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone of RVA and head out to Lynchburg for the Lynchburg Music Festival. This time the festival was from 11am til 9pm. LONG DAY!!!! It started out drizzling but within one hour the sun came out and stayed with us til the end. The music was a great mix of original, cover rock, country, 80s and some beach music. I enjoyed listening to the music and again I met some great people at my little yellow tent. It was a great day to sport some wood sunglasses. Everyone that purchased them were quick to put them on and show off how awesome they looked, myself being included. This weekend SunFlipz will be at the Lake Anna Brewfest. Saturday May 16th from 12-6 at the Cutalong. Stop by and enjoy some brews and take a look at some unique wood sunglasses.  Enjoying some Sasparilla! Saturday May 2nd I found myself in a sea of white tents. My little yellow tent that could, was 2nd in line of vendors at the Big Field Day hosted by XL102 and I Heart Media. It was sunny and a perfect 72 degrees to make for an excellent day for a music festival. XL102 was doing interviews with the bands and Fletcher was sporting the Forest Hill's all day at the interviews and the festival! I also met up with some of the guys and gals at RVA Beard League. They had a tent also at the festival. They repped my new aviator (Westover's) sunglasses as well, and SunFlipz will be donating and helping support their next event. Boldly Grow! I also met the owner of RVA Vapes, she bought some SunFlipz Wood Sunglasses, the Shockoes i think. it was a busy day and my memory is not as good as it used to be.
It was a long but very fun day. I met many new friends and got a chance to talk about SunFlipz sunglasses and more with quite a few people that stopped by. I took some photos as well and chatted up with the other vendors there. Next week we will be at Lynchburg Music Festival |
